World Book Day 2019 was celebrated in fairy tale style in Newmarket Girls’ School. All of the girls (and the odd, I mean occasional teacher!) came to school dressed as their favourite character from a story. Everyone made a huge effort and we were all impressed by how clever and creative the girls were. There were wizards, witches, gangsta grannies and scarecrows not to mention Little Red Riding Hood, Wally, Nancy Drew and Anne Frank. We even had a billionaire boy of all things! The girls had a great day and were rewarded with a World Book Token. They can either swap their token for a free exclusive World Book Day book or use it to get €1:50 off a full-price book.
World Book Day is an annual celebration and is marked in more than 100 countries around the world. It is now in its 23rd year.
