As part of their Irish Aid Project sixth class recorded their version of “One Little Voice” in what was Holy Trinity Church, Newmarket but what is now “Cultúrlann Mac Amhlaoibh”. The theme of this year’s project is: “Let No One Behind”. The girls chose this song as its central message not only reflects the theme but stresses the importance of the individual’s voice. The girls chose the “Cultúrlann” for their performance because in its previous life as a Protestant Church it housed a beautiful bell which was sent to a parish in Africa when the church was deconsecrated. It is believed that it went to a parish in Mozambique and as this is one of the Irish Aid partner countries the girls felt that sending a message from this historical place would be hugely symbolic.
