The Department of Education and Skills and Healthy Ireland encourage all schools to organise an Active School Week as part of their school calendar. The focus of the programme is on fun and participation. With this in mind, all pupils will attend classes with Patsy O’ Reilly on Monday May 13th. Patsy will organise a range of activities to suit all age levels and abilities. Pupils will walk to and from the classes thereby enhancing and extending the period of activity. As a precursor to Active School Week and because the yard was temporarily off limits on Friday May 10th we took the girls to the pitch for break time. They scattered around the pitch as if it was their first taste of freedom and it was a delight to see. It was a beautiful day and they had a wonderful time. Another trip to the pitch is planned as part of Active School Week.
